Hello, I’m Amino and I’m a freelancer and full-time blogger. I’ve started making a living online last year, but my blogging experience goes back to five years ago when I started my first personal blog.

How It All Started:

It all started in 2003, I was still in high school back then and I stumbled across Bravenet and decided to sign up for a “blog”. Back then, I only thought of my blog as means to vent and scribble my late teenage anguish. Looking back now, I say “How discreet.”

During the six years, I got into the business of blog hopping from one platform to another experimenting with political activism, art, and writing blogs.

Why Freelance? Why Not a Job?

That is a question many people ask, since many find the prospect of freelancing to be quite terrifying. The question of “How can you live not knowing if you have a steady flow of income?” is one of the main reasons why many people hide behind their desks for the rest of their life even though they hate their jobs.

For me, I choose to freelance in order to focus on my writing. I have been writing short fiction and plays since a very early age, it was only in college that I decided to focus on my writing career.

Can’t You Work & Write In The Same Time?

My previous job, a book adviser in an ultra hip bookstore, proved to be a natural sponge to all of my creative juices. After hours of marginalizing books into commission rates, I realized that job is just not for me, not only this job, but all jobs for that matter. Long hours just don’t go well with those who wish to write. So I decided to make a living online.

How Hard Is It To Make a Living Online?

When I first decided that I want to secure income online, I started surfing the web for opportunities, only to realize the web is full of work-at-home scams. It took some time to find legitimate websites with a little bit of time and patience.

Freelancing is not for everyone, it requires: patience, dedication, organization, and many other qualities that you will learn to develop along the way such as effective negotiating.
